Time to Meet Mehro
It may be time for you all to meet Mehro - In fact it definitely is! Mehro delivers a whole package with striking visuals, intuitive deep lyrics, and a maturity to it all that pulls you in slowly and then all at once. Mehro’s music finds a way to capture those with sensitive souls and give them a landing pad to rest on while the world carries on without them for a few short minutes. His thoughtful and soulful compositions leave listeners in a world all his own creation.
Mehro’s most current release “Howling” is a minimalistic soundscape with scraping vocals that haunt the listener in the best way. It alights a craving for back roads in the rain, long walks at midnight, and a creeping sense of nostalgia. He uses dog and wolf audios to create a sound that brings you into his world instead of the other way around; a fantasy unique to him. It is a fever dream of an I-miss-you-mindset with Mehro saying:
“‘Howling’ is a fever dream.. when you miss someone so much, your understanding of reality is put into question. because the foundation you once stood upon is now water, and cement bricks are tied to your ankles, and there is nowhere to go but down."
Howling is the perfect sad song to usher in fall and the introduction to the underside of his "Alchemy/Dark Corners" series which is sure to alight that part of your soul that waits for the right songs to come alive.
We met up with Mehro at the studio to shoot some Polaroids and can truly state that he is a kind, creative soul whose talent is undeniable. We also chatted a bit with him about why he does music, how visuals play into his work, and so much more.

Who are you and why music?
I am Mehro. Becoming an artist was the greatest dream I could imagine fulfilling, and that’s why I chose this path.
What does authenticity as an artist and as a person mean to you?
Authenticity, as an artist, means conveying a sincere emotion. it allows us and the listener to have an unspoken connection, that we are on the same page.
In “Howling” you used real wolf howls in the track, why wolves?
I thought it closest represented our deepest desires in a sound.
How does cinema inspire you? Does it?
It's inspiring because it’s another way to make people feel something. It's another way to bring people into a world, and that world is anything we want it to be.
What was the process of finding your sound and identity as an artist?
Dedicating myself to writing, finishing songs, writing my truth, and giving myself the time to do it..
What is your favorite lyric of your own? What is your favorite lyric by someone else?
It changes every day... but today it’s: “Are you here looking for love, or do you love being looked at?”
It’s impossible to pick one favorite lyric from anybody, but the first one that came to mind was, “we can plant a house, we can build a tree”
What do you hope people take away from your art?
I hope they take fewer things for granted, see more beauty, feel their emotions deeply, and find more joy in the little things.
How do visuals play into your music?
I’d say that the music plays into the visuals.. without the songs, the videos don’t exist. and I like creating videos that you would least expect to be connected to the song you’re hearing.
Do you remember your dreams at night?
Some of them... I do my best to write them down if I wake up from a vivid dream. Some nights it doesn’t feel like anything, and on other nights it feels like I was living a life in an alternate universe.
