Like We Owned It

I used to love our unhealthy ways.

Lighting up your cigarette in that big pickup truck.

Looking into my eyes like you wanted me to get lost.

Stopping to get some trash food.

Enjoying it while we were still young and beautiful.

Putting on old roller skates and cruising down the hill.

Not ever caring about falling down.

Driving through the sunset with the music pumping loud.

Singing like I truly lived those lyrics dropping from my tongue.

Kissing each other day and night.

Saying “I love you”, like we knew what it meant.
