Meet Jackie Jacobson, a So-Cal native who is currently playing the role of ‘Dylan’ on ‘Malibu Rescue: The Next Wave’ where she plays an underdog in the Junior Rescue Program, motivating and empowering her fellow underdogs to show their worth.

In real life, Jackie is a passionate actress who has been in the industry for quite some time. We shot her on a perfect summer day in Malibu at a distance and on film. While shooting we found that this girl is not only a talented actress but also a kind, effervescent, and easy-going soul. Her Aquarius nature is evident in her breezy attitude.

At only 18 Jackie Jacobson knows who she is, what she wants, and is well on her way to achieving her dreams. Get to know her better and check out the editorial below.

Why acting? Has that always been the dream?

I used to love making little shows for my family and entertaining them, so I figured I would make a living out of it. I knew by the age of 4 that my end goal was to be an actress! There’s something that connects people through film and this sense of relatability in whatever you are watching.

What is it like having such an exciting project airing during such unprecedented times?

It’s almost a silver lining. No matter how hard times get and how unpredictable the world is, there are still little victories to celebrate. I think it’s the little things that are keeping people’s spirits high during a very tough time.

What did you learn on set? Did you relate to your character?

Malibu Rescue has taught me a lot about myself as a person and as an actress. I’ve pushed myself a lot more than I thought I could and I’ve proven to myself that if I work hard enough, anything is possible. All of that has made me relate to my character ‘Dylan’ even more. We are both underdogs and just trying to prove ourselves. Being professional and being a good friend are two values we both share as well.

What was the best and hardest part of the filming process?

Best

Our cast and crew - 100%. No matter how hard or frustrating a day was, I knew my cast and especially my crew had my back! It created such a comfortable and welcoming environment every day.

Hardest

Probably the weather. We were working against the elements most of the time, so that was something new for me. In some scenes, we had to get wet while it was freezing outside and pretend it was a pretty day at the beach!

How did you feel when you learned you had landed the part?

Honestly, SHOCKED! I had felt so good about my chances of booking it, but when I actually found out I got it, I didn’t know how to react. I remember crying and being so happy and shocked at the same time. I kept having to pinch myself.

What does authenticity mean to you?

There’s nothing better than being your authentic self. Being in the entertainment industry, you have to have thick skin and it really teaches you not to change for anyone. Being yourself and standing up for what you believe in will always take you further than changing who you are.

What does beauty mean to you?

Beauty to me isn’t just skin deep, it’s about being a good person before you are considered “pretty.” Being caring and thoughtful always leaves a greater impression on people than just your looks.
