An Evening With Emeline x Francesca's

Emeline is exactly the artist you wish had been around when you were 17 and getting ready for prom - honestly though all that matters is she can grace your playlists today. Emeline’s music is truly empowering feminist pop that reminds you what it means to be a woman with a message to share. She is an artist who is actively stating the facts that women need to be reminded of now and again. Emeline, originally from Rhode Island is now in LA, starting to make major waves as a person and an artist thanks to her success on Tik Tok, playlists, and the radio.

On top of that, she just collaborated with label Francesca's on their limited edition LimeLight dresses - a perfect selection of prom dresses. They make you want to gather up a group of your best girlfriends and get dressed up to take pictures that will capture your glow for a lifetime (of course, followed by a trip to IHop before gracing the dancefloor for a whole 15 minutes). The collection reflects a true #befreetobeyou mentality!

Emeline performed at their Holiday charity event where Francesca's partnered with “The Giving Gown”, a Foundation based out of Houston Texas where they will be donating 100 dresses, bags, and accessories to their annual March 2022 event. The event gives girls who don’t have the means to shop till they drop the prom experience they deserve.

“This Is How I Learn To Say No” is Emeline’s track that shot her to the top of so many hearts over the past 6 months. The song speaks to all of our inner 16-year-old girls who need a reminder that it is okay to say no. It is a power anthem best screamed out of car windows or into your best friend's face at 9 pm while getting ready to go dance. The lyrics are an ode to every people-pleaser out there when they finally learn how to put their foot down.

Her newest track named “What It Means to Be a Girl” is another uplifting anthem to empower women worldwide. The track is the perfect theme song for you to step back into your power - reclaiming what has always been yours. It highlights the struggles most women face on a daily basis. On top of that, it shows the privileges that are double-edged swords to navigate. The lyrics are a stunning homage to the harsh world that women deal with daily, yet are delivered in a digestible and relatable way.

Emeline doesn’t shy away from the harsh facts of life, rather, she finds her inspiration in them. Using her voice to share what so many women have been thinking.

How was it watching “Flowers And Sex” explode on tiktok?

Watching that happen was the craziest amount of emotion I’ve ever felt and it was so gratifying after working on my music for so long. It felt like my voice finally found its place with the right people.

“This Is How I Learn To Say So” is such a powerful anthem for the people pleasers out there. What was the writing process behind it?

I have been a people pleaser most of my life and I think I finally realized that being empathetic without boundaries was really just self-destruction. I reached a point in my healing process where I decided love for myself should come before pleasing negative surroundings and I’m really proud of that and of the song that came with it.

How was it moving from the east coast to the west coast? Was there any culture shock?

It was a big adjustment at first and not having seasons was one of the biggest changes. I love the energy of both places and I’m super grateful that I can call both Los Angeles and Rhode Island home.

What does empowerment mean to you?

It means standing up for what you believe in and being unapologetically yourself while also encouraging others to do the same.

What was most exciting about the ‘Francesca's Limelight’ live event to you?

It was so exciting to be able to debut my songs “this is how I learn to say no” and “flowers & sex” for the first time on a stage. The energy and excitement of all the influencers were so also such a highlight. There was a lot of girl power we felt while walking in the clothing together which was amazing.

What does authenticity mean to you?

Authenticity means being true enough to yourself and others through any environment you may be in. As an artist, it was super important for me to be brave enough to be authentic throughout all of my writing.

Where in the world are you happiest?

My family spends summers in a small town called Westport in Massachusetts and I think I feel most grounded and happy there. It’s full of nature so it’s a great place to connect with myself and create without pressure.

Favorite quote?

I live by the Laurel Thatcher Ulrich quote: “Well-behaved women seldom make history.”

Anything else you would like to say?

Thank you for everything!
