Fading Smoke

I used to breathe in the scent of poison. 

Now all I’m inhaling is the sweet smell of life’s beauty.

I used to get high on smoke & retribution. 

Now I’m indulging on the feeling of rhythm and blues pumping through my veins. 

I used to be a rebel, relentless, fighting with anger while losing against my fear.

Today I understand that what’s within has always been my destiny. 

And the shadows will fade, but believe me, I will know where they came from.
