Purple Rain

London-based Photographer Bhav Gulabivala loves to create photo stories with a deeper meaning. His latest work ‘Purple Rain’ expresses the creative’s appreciation of deceased mega-star Prince, while perfectly capturing model Sonya in the melancholic though beautiful mood that comes with reminiscences.

The artist states, “My inspiration was the resurgence of The Face magazine, my love of Prince and all that he represented. I wanted to create a feeling of longing, missing a true artist, creator, the sound-track of my life. His recently released autobiography ‘The Beautiful Ones,’ also felt like a timely reminder of the genius that was Prince. I wanted to create the feeling of a whimsical Sunday afternoon, thinking, feeling and reminiscing about Prince. He did so much to support female artists, expressing female sexuality in music, showing his own vulnerability and androgynous tendencies, all of this makes him an icon of our times as we struggle for identity and meaning.”

“I never wanted to be your weekend lover, I only wanted to be some kind of friend Baby, I could never steal you from another It's such a shame our friendship had to end.” - Purple Rain
