Let's Make The Best Out Of This

We only get one life so let’s make the best out of this…

I spend my days slowly lately. Hot coffee and fresh fruit in the mornings, sunlight, and poetry as the sun shines overhead, fresh baked cookies and bread, good wine to comfort the cruelness we discuss at dinner. Grateful for the privilege to be able to hide away while the world is hurting so deeply, while people lose everything, while so many are fighting. Yet, it all blends together - more of the same scenery… At first it felt like grieving for the world, the life I had built, the life I loved… Grieving for the experiences planned, birthdays, and milestones that now would be replaced with the same few walls. I have found solace in reflection, loved ones, and learning new things… I have found solace as I did as a child, in my dreams.

So let’s find the light that is available - Let us not go back to how we once were, it didn’t work. Let us go back into the world with more kindness, compassion, and love… But also more anger, drive, and willingness for change. Let us put our money where our mouths are and demand a better world. Let us support those who are making things bearable, those who are grieving, those who have less.

Let us use this as a new renaissance, rehabilitation, as a time to rise up into something better. Let us rally, revolt, and regain a world that is sustainable for the next generation. Let us not be gripped by fear but rather inspired to go back into the world - better.

Until then, let us take deep breaths of grateful air, feel the emotions that are whirling inside us, yell at the sky, wink at the moon, love ourselves, and dream of a better tomorrow.
