We met up with Hannah Meloche in Silver Lake CA for a dreamy shoot with a little bit of edge. Hannah was fresh off the plane that morning and yet still showed up with enthusiasm, creativity, and positivity for days. She does a lot of bad ass things so we are going to let her introduce herself below.

Who are you?

I’m Hannah Meloche and I’ve got a good mix of everything! I’m definitely a huge people person, I love my friends and family so much. I’m very big on creating, always working on something, pushing myself to think outside the box, and especially working with other creative minds! Projects could be a YouTube video, a film project, anything I’m interested in learning about!

What does authenticity mean to you?

Authenticity is as easy as being an open book. When it comes to other people just being open and honest with your feelings, while still being kind and cautious of their feelings. Being authentic to yourself is following your heart but also listening to your mind, do what is going to make you happiest and continue to put positive energy into the world.

What does beauty mean to you?

Beauty is confidence in yourself and making others feel beautiful, too. Not so much putting yourself on a level where you think you’re the prettiest ever, that’s definitely not healthy. I think appreciating your unique beauty and that everyone else has a unique beauty is very important!

What does sustainability mean to you?

Sustainability can have a different meaning to everyone but socially for me, it’s sustaining my character and who I am. Not changing or doing anything to please or impress anyone, which is a hard thing to do since acceptance is craved by everyone. Environmental sustainability is doing your best to be kind to the earth on a daily basis as best as you can.

Tell us more about Starlite village and the motivations behind it?

Starlite Village was created after I had a taste of designing my own jewelry! What I’ve always wanted with anything I sell is a deeper meaning, what does it represent or remind you of. I always have a quote or phrase I put with my jewelry, every product has a different a positive reminder so that when you put the jewelry on you have a symbol of positivity wherever you go. I loved the whole creative process, and my followers loved the pieces. Now Starlite is continuously incorporating positivity, and we’re also making our products as eco-friendly as we can. Meaning some of the jewelry is made out of recycled metals, or the cotton is organic, and the packaging is always made of recycled paper.

What made you decide to take a gap year, meet fans, and step into their jobs?

I’m definitely not ready for college. I wanted to explore my interests more, hear more story’s, and meet the people that continue to support me like crazy. Everyone has a story that deserves to be told, and I wanna help tell those stories.

Biggest lesson learned in 2019?

There were endless lessons learned last year, it was a huge growth year. One big one was that I’m in control of my life, nobody else. And that’s something i have to constantly remind myself. It’s so true when you feel like people are walking all over you you’ve gotta remind yourself that you know yourself best and what is going to make YOU happiest.

Favorite quote?

We are who we believe we are.

What does influence mean to you?

Influence is impacting anyone’s life in a positive or negative way I guess the biggest thing for me is realizing I have the power to impact someone’s day or life and I wanna use that influence in a positive way which is why I am always hard on myself constantly thinking about how my actions would affect other people who look up to me.

Where in the world are you happiest?

It doesn’t matter where I am as long as I’m with my family my boyfriend or some of my best friends I can have a good time. But I will say Michigan in the summertime is a very calm relaxing place for me, it’s home! I also love New York or LA when I have work there and can feel productive. The big Island of Hawaii is very special to me too because my grandparents live there and I go there almost every year. Those are my favorite places but there are so many beautiful places around the world that have made me so happy!
