Mallrat's Opening Debut "Butterfly Blue"

If you are reading this then it must be time for you to meet Mallrat! Honestly, if you don’t know who she is yet then you are right on time to experience a beautiful body of work.

Mallrat recently released her debut record “Butterfly Blue”, an ethereal and sentimental creation, perfect for those quiet evenings spent alone in your own dreamscape. Her emotional lyrics will reel you in and accompany whatever emotions have been ruminating in your own chest lately. Her hope filled perspective will help clear away the painful cobwebs that so often collect on heart strings.

"I've always valued music that is interesting, beautiful, and unpretentious. Something timeless and not reactive," Shaw says. "'Butterfly Blue' was made with that in mind. It's a demonstration of not pretending to be anyone else."

In “Butterfly Blue”, Mallrat layers honest pop, airy vocals, and even a children's choir from Lisztomania to create a distorted and sweeping project full of auditory gems and surprises.

Originally from Australia this release of 11 tracks is to say the least a strong opening to what looks like will bloom into a striking career. Mallrat has certainly been through what some may call a metamorphosis hence the name of the record being “Butterfly Blue”. She expresses this by stating:

"The transformation Butterflies undergo is almost incomprehensible. They dissolve into goo and then reconstruct themselves – but hold onto the memories of their time as a caterpillar."

Mallrat is showing a roadmap to hope, reinvention, rebirth, and healing. She delivers the perfect sound track for anyone currently moving from one phase of life to another. As chapters close and new ones open, having the right theme track can make all the difference.

The second track on the record “To you” has a new found home in our overly sentimental hearts with lyrics stating:

“I’ve given so much away

My loving has gone to waste

But I’ve got a lot to give

And that’s how I like to live

Well, you like to keep your space With everything in its place

And no one that you might miss

Why don’t you take a risk?

Holding on to you”

In general, Mallrat means business when it comes to music with a pulse. Take a few minutes out of your day and do something kind for yourself by checking out “Butterfly Blue”.
