Swimwear Love: Vaute & Araks
by Ana Tess
Living in the city, you wait all year for summer to finally arrive so you can spend your weekends on the beach. And there is a lot of prep work needed for this season: hard training to keep your body fit and healthy, choosing natural sunscreen creams, and of course buying a swimsuit - the most important piece.
There are a few brands about everybody’s talking about: Marysia, Solid&Striped and Kiini. We want to show you two others that you will - with no doubts - fall head over heels for.
"Vaute" with a "V" for Vegan is “The World’s First All-Vegan Fashion Brand. Based in Brooklyn, the label was found in Chicago by Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart as a quest to take animals out of the fashion equation. All swimsuits are made with 100% recycled and vegan materials. It feels nice to wear something with the knowing that you won’t cause damage to your planet.
Vaute has everything you need to shine on the beach: Ruffled bikinis, wrapped skirts, straw hats, sheer blouses that pop with fairy prints and much more.
Araks was launched back in 2000 by Araks Yeramyan, a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York and a former student of Central Saint Martins School in London. She started her career working on a lingerie collection three years ago in 2013. Now they also got a swimwear line.
Araks is created for the modern intelligent woman who cares about the finest details and her personal style. This Brand is reaching their customers through color blocking details and unique silhouettes. Perfect fits and UPF 50+ fabrics make them a bit pricy ($300 — $400 for one piece), but definitely worth it.
